About Me
I first came to Madrid from Germany nearly 30 years ago. Since then, Madrid has become my home — and my profession. Having discovered the city as an outsider myself, I know how fascinating, surprising and sometimes puzzling Madrid can be for a first-time visitor. I enjoy finding the stories, details and unexpected connections that bring a place to life, while adapting each visit to the people in front of me. I work with private travellers, cultural groups and international agencies, offering private tours and cultural visits in Madrid that are insightful, engaging and enjoyable. I am a Madrid-based licensed Official Tour Guide of the Community of Madrid, with a background in History and Art History. I offer guided tours in English, German and Spanish, working with international visitors on private tours, cultural visits and walking tours in Madrid. I have more than 20 years of experience working as a guide, and my previous work as a German teacher, television scriptwriter and travel-guide author for the German publisher Merian taught me something I still consider essential: how to select, structure and communicate information clearly and effectively. I particularly enjoy introducing visitors to Madrid’s museums and palaces — from discovering hidden details in a Velázquez portrait at the Prado Museum to exploring the everyday life, craftsmanship and ceremony behind the grandeur of the Royal Palace of Madrid. But I am equally fascinated by Madrid’s streets and neighbourhoods: its architecture, traditions and everyday life. Welcome to Madrid!
