About Me
Hi! My name is Vigdis – a certified Oslo guide who loves to bring both the city’s wild nature and rich history to life on foot. I have four fantastic tours to offer to all of you who love outdoor activities mixed with various cultural and historical experiences both outdoors and indoors.
About myself : Many years of work experience as a production manager at NRK, Norwegian Radio and Television, tour guide for the Scandinavian travel agency Apollo, 2009-2010. Tour 1 – The Akerselva River - the cradle of the industrial revolution in Norway and Oslo's largest open-air museum.
- Step into the story of the city's transformation from old industry areas to modern city life by exploring the Akerselva River, Oslo's Living Artery through centuries. Discover the industrial backbone and hidden secrets along the riverbanks with me.
Tour 2 – Akerselva River - a living environmental park where nature, architecture and modern urban culture merge.
- Along the riverbanks, we'll study Oslo's visual culture and historical memories. We'll discover the river's most beautiful bridges, enjoy its bubbling waterfalls, and rejoice with the locals in exciting architecture, sculpture and urban street art.
Tour 3 – Oslo's historic city center. From Akershus Fortress to the National Museum: Power and National Romance.
- After exploring the 700-year-old Akershus Fortress, we stroll out onto Karl Johans gate, Oslo's main promenade. We pass some of the city's most important historical buildings before ending with a guided tour of the city's new National Museum.
Tour 4 – Akershus Fortress, Oslo City Hall and Hovedøya Island : Power, Civic Pride and Island Landscape.
- From Norway's most visited national arena, the tour turns its focus toward democracy and civic identity in Oslo City Hall. Then we leave the city and take a ferry ride to Hovedøya, a beautiful natural island known for its monastery and beaches.
Welcome to Oslo, the city between the green and the blue - and welcome to sign up for one of my four city walking tours. Only on my tours you will discover that Oslo is not only the city above all cities that is best explored on foot, but also the city above all cities that you will love to experience on foot - again and again! I look forward to meeting you❤️❤️❤️
