The tour start at the Norwegian Parliament, one of the key landmarks on Karl Johans gate, located opposite one of Oslo’s most iconic addresses; Grand Hotel. The Royal Palace is the final stop on Karl Johan, while the National Museum, located at Aker Brygge, is the final stop on the tour.
Karl Johans gate is not merely Oslo’s main street; it is the city’s grand public stage, linking some of the capital’s most important buildings—including the Norwegian Parliament (Stortinget), the National Theatre (the city’s national stage for drama), and the university buildings, which form one of Oslo’s most elegant architectural complexes. As we approach the Royal Palace, the street opens up to reveal one of Oslo’s most iconic cityscapes. From there, the route leads to the National Museum, where the walk continues as a journey through Norwegian art, architecture, and design.

Entrance ticket to the National Museum and a 45minutes guided tour is included in this walking tour.. Feel free to wear comfortable shoes and dress according to the weather while we are outside—the following rules apply inside the museum:
Practical visitor information for the National-museum: Handbags and bags smaller than A4 size may be taken into the exhibitions, provided security staff are allowed to check their contents. If you do not wish to have your bag inspected, or if it exceeds A4 size, it must be left in the cloakroom before entering the exhibition areas. The same applies to umbrellas and selfie sticks. Ice cleats/spikes may not be worn inside the museum. Please remove them or wear shoes without cleats. Lockable lockers are available. All outerwear and bulky jackets must be left in the cloakroom. Food and liquids are not permitted in the exhibition areas. Empty bottles are not permitted in the exhibition areas. Refreshments are available for purchase and consumption in the Lounge on the second floor, as well as in the café on the ground floor. The museum appreciates you keeping a safe distance from the artworks! If you come closer than 60 cm, the alarm may be triggered. You are welcome to take photos inside the exhibitions, but you will be asked to turn off your camera's flash first. Welcome❤️
