Green spaces, trees and flowers, fresh air, peace and calm, a quiet bench. All of this and some surprising cultural heritage with stories of life-changing events await you when you join this mindful, immersive, low-tech experience brought to you by an inspired tourist guide.
Our walk takes us to a much-loved park in the west end of Scotland’s largest city: Glasgow. Some say Glasgow is a city of contrasts – the bustling former second city of the British empire with its checkered history on one hand, and ‘my dear green place’ the name given to Glaschú by its Patron Saint Mungo, on the other. Can both be true? Let’s explore Kelvingrove Park and the historic building of the University of Glasgow - look for traces of the past, listen to the voices of today and find your own answers and inspiration.
Tour Highlights: Kelvin Bridge Statues, Stewart Memorial Fountain, An Clachan - traces of a 'Highland village', Suffragettes Oak, Cloisters of the University of Glasgow, amazing views throughout and a warm Glasgow Welcome

Open in MapsMost of the walk in the park is on even ground, apart from a slope on uneven lawn, which can be avoided if unsuitable. There is a slow ascent to Gilmorehill for the Glasgow University Buildings. Terrain can be wet and slippery. There is plenty of shade on hot days. Route and stopping points will be adjusted according to weather conditions and to personal preferences, if possible.
The best times for our walk are mid-morning or mid-afternoon, when the museum and café are open, it is daylight, and the park is frequented by people. Occasional police patrols also take place. Defibrillators can be found at the museum and at the Clachan Café. Your tourist guide is trained in emergency first aid.
The walk will take place in all seasons. In fact, each season will provide different stimuli for the senses, which will be integrated into the experience.
