About this experience
Experience the heart of Budapest on a guided walk from Fashion Street to City Park. We’ll take in famous monuments, explore the city’s remarkable mix of architectural styles from the 1800s to today, and learn about the fascinating stories behind them.
Our tour starts at Vörösmarty Square, the home of the Christmas Market and the historic Millennium Underground.
We walk along Fashion Street to Andrássy Avenue, Budapest’s elegant UNESCO boulevard, where we take the Millennium Underground.
We get off to see the State Opera House, the former Ballet Institute, and the Paris Department Store.
Then we pass Nagymező Street, the “Hungarian Broadway,” and continue to Oktogon.
Next, we ride to Heroes’ Square, the city’s grandest square, with the Museum of Fine Arts and the Art Gallery, where you can take for a quick photo stop.
From here we enter City Park, seeing Vajdahunyad Castle, the modern House of Music, and the Széchenyi Thermal Bath.
If you’d like, you can try the famous Gundel Restaurant nearby.
This is where the tour ends—feel free to explore more or take the underground back downtown.
