We walk along the vibrant banks of the Akerselva River from Nydalen, the city within the city, to Anker-brua, the fairy tale bridge, the bridge that takes you across to Akerselva most popular place to live or just meet friends. Along the way, we will encounter newly restored, red-washed factory buildings, new and old architecture side by side, while along the entire route we can admire the fantastic street art that follows us from start to finish. We will we explore new and old places close to the river, make short stops at Sagene, Myrer-jordet, Beyer-bridge, Åmot bridge, Vulkan, Blå and Gruner bru—you’ll learn the stories of those who built and lived by the river. See how old industry meets striking new buildings and green spaces. We’ll talk about Oslo’s waterway, its bridges through time, and the people whose lives were knit to the river.
