About this experience
A light adventure in Budapest’s scenic Buda Hills: chairlift ride, panoramic lookout, Children’s Railway, and a choice of return routes through lush hillsides.
This half-day tour is perfect for nature lovers and families. We start by taking a local bus to the lower station of the chairlift, ascending János Hill with sweeping views. A 10-minute walk takes us to Elisabeth Lookout Tower, named for Empress Erzsébet, offering a stunning city panorama. Next, we hop on the Children’s Railway—partially operated by children!—to Normafa, a lively area loved by locals and a great spot to rest or grab a quick bite. We then walk to Széchenyi Hill, a tranquil corner of the Buda Hills. For the descent, you can choose between the cogwheel railway, a bus, or a spectacular walking path back to the city. The route can be customized for your comfort and interests.
