What is a Product and how do I make one? - Job Board for Partners
To post jobs on the Job Board for Guides to apply to, a Partner (Travel Agency, DMC, Tour Operator, Hotel) needs to create a Product and a Service before posting. These two components includes all the relevant information a guide needs to before making a decision to apply to a job. In this document we will go through the product. Please read "What is a service and how do I make it?" for the second part.
What is a product?
A product consists of some elements that you would want to use for multiple services or at multiple times. It consists of elements you dont want to repeat for every booking. There are multiple ways to use it, lets first go through the elements.
It consists of these elements:
Title Something that explains your product so you and the guide knows the context. Like "Tour of the Royal Palace and Gardens"
Description A descriptive text explaining the itinerary, important information the guides need to know about the product, not the actual booking, but something repeated. Like: Tour stops by the statue next to the entrance. Tour is 4 km long. Guests have not paid for entrance tickets to museums.
Currency The Current the guide will bill in and you will pay in. Often local currency.
Pricing Type This is for the partner benefit. Choose between hourly rate and fixed rate. Hourly Rate doesn't take duration on product into account - you choose that on the service level. An example here is a Tour that has different lengths, or just "Privat tour by the hour". A fixed price is a combination of a duration and a price. Used for pre-made packages like "3 hour tour of the Sculpture Park". This explains how the guide will be paid.
Duration How long is the product? You can override this in the service later.
Price This is NOT the price you sell to your customers, this is the price you are paying the guide for the job. This is the amount that will show up on the invoice the guides generate and send you in the platform. You will see on your side the amount you owe in platform fee on top of this.
When all of these points are set your product is ready to de used. You use the product in your services multiple times.
What happens when I Change my Product?
Good question! If you change your product it will not change the product attached to a service that is live, but it will change for all upcoming services. To change a product on an existing service you have to change the service - which might trigger a notification or acceptance from a guide if they have already applied for it and you have approved them.
