When you set up your group on Keyguides Connect, you’ll be asked to select a group type. This helps us give you the right tools and features — and helps travelers and partners understand your role.
Here’s a quick overview of each group type and what it’s for:
1. Association
For: Professional associations, unions, and member-based organizations Main purpose: Represent and verify guides who are part of your organization Key features: – Display a public group page – Verify guides (adds a visible badge on their profile) – Invite and approve members – (Optionally) create and assign tours Common examples: Oslo Guideforening, national tourist guide associations
2. Commercial Group
For: Companies, tour operators, hotels, or teams of guides working together Main purpose: Sell tours, organize a team of guides, and grow bookings Key features: – Display a public group page – Create and publish tours – Assign guides to tours – Invite and approve members – Add a commission to your bookings Common examples: Biking tour company, tour operators, hotel concierge teams, teams of guides.
3. Certification Body
For: Institutions or schools that certify or train guides Main purpose: Provide verified status to certified guides Key features: – Display a public group page (optional) – Verify guides who have completed your training – Share your certification standards Common examples: Tour guide schools, national training boards, language courses
